Gamekeeper Thumb

This is an injury to the ligament on the side of the knuckle of the thumb.Most people report swelling or tenderness over the base of the thumb and difficulty with pinching between the thumb and index finger.Partial tears can be treated conservatively with ice, NSAIDS or acetaminophen, and a splint/cast. Complete tears generally require surgical intervention for the most optimal result.
